A man disturbed burglars in his house after being woken during the night by his dog’s barking.

The incident happened in Netherwood Green in the city centre on June 30.

After hearing his pet, the householder went downstairs and disturbed burglars in the lounge who escaped through he back garden towards Arnold Miller Close.

The offenders, who are believed to have got in through an unlocked back door, dropped a laptop as they fled. Nothing was stolen.

Police have reminded residents to lock doors and windows overnight.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
