Following the tragic deaths of the two police officers killed in Manchester, we are asking your views about whether police should be armed and whether police killers should be given the death penalty.
The two unarmed female officers were killed in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester, which led to the arrest of a wanted man yesterday.
PC Nicola Hughes, 23, and PC Fiona Bone, 32, had been investigating a burglary in Mottram, Tameside, and went to an address after someone alleged a burglary had taken place, but once they arrived were attacked with a gun and a grenade. Police said one of the officers died at the scene and the second was critically injured and died afterwards.
Dale Cregan, 29, was arrested in connection with the officers’ deaths and two previous murders.
