Police have appealed for information after a wooden horse shelter and store room were set on fire in a field in Blofield.

Police say the fire in the two buildings would have been visible from the nearby road, but no calls were made to the emergency services.

The fire started between 6.15pm on Wednesday and 7am yesterday, in a field off Brundall Road, near where the road meets Highfield Avenue.

PC Julie Swift, the investigating officer, has appealed for witnesses to the fire.

She said: “This road is busy with traffic and the shelter was clearly visible from the road.

“The blaze wasn’t reported to police or the fire service and the damage was found the next day but it would have been noticeable and we’re keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area.”

Witnesses should contact PC Swift at Sprowston Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
