The 34-year-old from Sheffield was at Long John’s Showbar on Britannia Pier when he suffered serious burns to his hands and torso in the early hours of April 6.

Four men, who are known to the victim and are also from Sheffield, have been arrested and released on bail in connection with the incident.

The victim was initially taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston, before being transferred to the Broomfield specialist burns unit in Chelmsford.

Police said his condition is now stable and improving and he was expected to be transferred to a hospital local to him.

It is believed the victim and the men arrested were visiting Yarmouth on a weekend away together,

The four men arrested, aged 24, 26, 28, 33, were questioned and released on bail.

Three of them have been bailed to return to Yarmouth police station in late May, while the 28-year-old is due back in early June.
