Three men are thought to have broken into Mecca Bingo, in Aylsham Road, sometime between 3am and 5am this morning by climbing onto the roof and forcing open a sky light.

Once inside, the suspects broke into 35 slot machines and a change machine, removing cash before fleeing the scene after they were disturbed by cleaners.

A Norfolk police spokesman said it appears the thieves left empty-handed but enquiries are continuing to establish whether any money was taken.

Three men were seen to leave the building via the roof before making off in a light-coloured estate-type vehicle parked nearby.

• Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything suspicious in the area.
