Burglars have targeted a bingo hall in Norwich, breaking into 35 slot machines and a change machine before fleeing the scene.

Three men are thought to have broken into Mecca Bingo, in Aylsham Road, sometime between 3am and 5am this morning by climbing onto the roof and forcing open a sky light.

Once inside, the suspects broke into 35 slot machines and a change machine, removing cash before fleeing the scene after they were disturbed by cleaners.

A Norfolk police spokesman said it appears the thieves left empty-handed but enquiries are continuing to establish whether any money was taken.

Three men were seen to leave the building via the roof before making off in a light-coloured estate-type vehicle parked nearby.

• Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything suspicious in the area.

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Jon Church at Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
