Brothel arrests in Norwich

Two people were arrested in Earlham Road in Norwich after police discovered a brothel at an address.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of illegal entry to the UK and possession of a Class A drug after a quantity of crystal meth was seized. The woman was taken to Wymondham police investigation centre where she remains in custody awaiting deportation.

Police also arrested a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of managing a brothel. She was questioned in Wymondham and released on conditional bail until January while enquiries continue.

Police carried out the warrants at addresses in Unthank Road and Earlham Road yesterday after information was received that illegal sexual activity was taking place at the premises.

Officers worked alongside the UK Border Agency, HM Revenue and Customs and the Department for Work and Pensions, and the warrants were carried out under the Sexual Offences Act.
