A brick was thrown through the window of a train on the Norwich to London line as it left Diss station this morning.
Greater Anglia said the 8.30am Norwich to London Liverpool Street service had just departed the platform when a brick was thrown through the train driver's window.
The driver managed to get the train to Ipswich and British Transport Police confirmed no-one was injured.
It is believed the incident happened at 8.50am with police being informed of it at 9.13am.
The train was taken out of service following the incident leading to a number of cancellations. It is now being repaired at Greater Anglia's Norwich depot.
British Transport Police have confirmed it is investigating the incident and has asked any witnesses to contact the force on 0800 405040 or via text on 61016.
