POLICE are seeking witnesses after a spate of shed burglaries in Lowestoft over the festive period.
● A shed in the garden of a home at Steeple View was broken into between 10am on Christmas Day (Tuesday, December 25) and 10.30am on Boxing Day with frozen food items taken from a chest freezer inside. Some of the food was then discarded in a bin in a nearby alleyway. Information to PC 1638 Barber at Lowestoft police on 101.
● Two bicycles were stolen after someone gained entry to two sheds at a home in London Road South between 10.45am and 11.05pm on Friday, December 28. A ladies lilac coloured Probike hybrid bike and a man’s silver mountain bike with a child’s blue seat on it were taken along with a child’s silver scooter, a spade, lawnmower and drill. The tools were recovered from an alleyway at the back of the premises, which leads onto Kensington Road and it appears an attempt was also made to break into the home. Information to Det Con 1208 Hedges at Lowestoft police on 101.
● Two bicycles were also stolen from another shed in London Road South between 10.45pm and 11.10pm on Friday, December 28. It’s thought the man’s silver Giant mountain bike and man’s black Dawes mountain bike were taken via the same alleyway. Information to PC 165 Barton on 101.
● And a separate brick conservatory at a home in All Saints Road was entered between 10pm on Friday and 9am on Saturday, December 29. A bag containing supermarket vegetables and a red box containing a gun cleaning kit were stolen. The items were later recovered in bushes at a home in Pakefield Street.
