A pensioner has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol following a collision in Beccles.

At around 9.30pm on Tuesday, August 8, Suffolk Police were alerted to an incident on Grove Road, Beccles, in which a Skoda Octavia had collided with three parked vehicles in the town.

The other vehicles involved in the incident were a Volkswagen Polo, a Mazda 6 and a Kia Cee’d, which were struck by the Skoda while they were parked.

A 70-year-old man, Stephen Green, of London Road, Beccles was arrested by police officers following the collision.

He was later charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Green is now scheduled to appear before magistrates to answer the charge later this month.

His hearing will be held at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 30.
