A man has been arrested after an assault at Norwich Railway Station.

Officers from Norfolk Constabulary were called to the station at 7pm on Sunday after a request from British Transport Police (BTP) to help detain a man.

The man was arrested in relation to an assault and for being drunk and disorderly.

BTP East Anglia later tweeted in relation to the arrest: “Thank you to the #NorfolkPolice that assisted at Norwich train station tonight with the violent prisoner #PoliceFamily.”

In a separate incident, another person was reported for possession of a controlled substance.
