Three men have been arrested on suspicion of snatching a handbag from a woman who was tending to the grave of her husband.

The 80 year old from Watton was at St Mary's churchyard in the town between 1.30pm and 1.45pm on Wednesday when she was targeted.

She was also visiting the grave of her mother-in-law. Lee Allars, 34, from Watton, who was walking through the graveyard with his baby girl at the time, chased after the offenders.

The woman was not injured and Mr Allars lost the trio at Redhill Country Park, in Watton.

Police arrested a 22 year old and two 18 year olds from three addresses in Carbrooke.

They were taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre but were released on bail, to return on Monday, November 5.

Kelly Lacey, partner of Mr Allars, said the victim was 'shaken up'.

She added the town had rallied round to raise more than 60 for the victim.

Miss Lacey put up the news of the robbery on Facebook, and the money raised will go towards a gift for the elderly woman.

She added the support has been 'unreal'.
