A gold signet ring was amongst items stolen during a burglary in Norwich.

Detectives are appealing for information following the break-in at Don Pratt Court, which happened between 11pm on Saturday and 5.30am on Sunday when a burglar entered a property by climbing through a kitchen window, which had been left open overnight.

Two wallets, cash, a bank card, a Seko Kinetic watch and a Tag Heuer watch, were stolen from the living room. A gold signet ring with one small white diamond was also stolen.

Det Con Andy Tomlinson, from Norwich CID, said: 'The ring, which is engraved with a personal message, holds significant sentimental value to the elderly victim as it was a gift from his parents on his 21st birthday.

'We're keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary in the area overnight on Saturday as well as anyone who may have been offered the ring for sale.'

Det Con Tomlinson also urged residents to be vigilant and to avoid leaving ground floor windows which are easily accessible open overnight.
