The A47 was temporarily closed last night after the tyres of a police car were blown during a high-speed pursuit.
Police said the incident started when a car was seen doing 90mph on the Acle Straight at 11.04pm, and failed to stop.
As police followed it onto the Dereham-bound A47, two tyres on the police car were damaged, and the car was left running on its rims.
A spokesman said the damage was not caused by the chase, but by something on the road surface, and the A47 southern bypass was closed while police made sure it was safe for other drivers.
He added that two people were detained.
