A 21-year-old man arrested in connection with a collision in Norwich’s clubland has been charged with a series of offences.

James Berryman, of St Andrews Close, Old Buckenham, faces six charges in connection with the incident which happened at approximately 1.45am on Prince of Wales Road.

Berryman is accused of drink driving, having 75 microgrammes in 100 mililitres of breath, dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance, driving without a licence, failing to stop for police and aggravated vehicle taking and damaging property.

He has been released on bail with conditions not to enter Norwich city centre, as defined by the inner ring road, between 7pm and 7am and to observe a night time curfew between 9pm and 7am. Berryman will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday 17 March.

Four vehicles were damaged during the incident, including two taxis and a police car, and a taxi driver, who was sitting in his vehicle when at the time of the incident, suffered minor injuries.

A second man arrested, the 22-year-old passenger, has been released on conditional bail until 4 March while enquiries continue.
