The incident happened between 3.10pm and 3.30pm on Friday, December 9 when the girl was at the Market Gates shopping centre with friends.

The girl suffered bruising as a result of the bite.

The dog was one of three with a woman described as in her 60s with greying hair.

The woman then caught a bus to the James Paget Hospital.

Officers want to speak to the owner of the dog, or anyone who may know who she is or may have witnessed the incident and may be able to assist police.

Calls should be made to PC Tracey Riddell at Great Yarmouth South Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
