Eight fire crews were called to extinguish a 300-acre stubble and crop blaze near Pulham Market this evening.
Firefighters were helped by the farmer to create fire breaks to stop the flames spreading further, after being called at 5.57pm yesterday.
The eight crews – from Harleston, Long Stratton, Diss, Earlham, Carrow, Hethersett, Eye, Stradbroke and Wymondham – used jets, beaters and rakes to put the fire out.
The fire was extinguished by 8.35pm, and a spokesman for the fire service said a cause had not yet been established.
