Two employees and two elected members of Norfolk County Council were among those that took part in the third Wymondham Approach last week.

The mass‐commute between Wymondham and Norwich aims to inspire local residents to leave their car at home and try cycling to work instead. Fifteen cyclists took part in the trip from Wymondham Market Place, through Hethersett and on to the Forum in Norwich, arriving at 8.50am.

Wymondham Approach organiser Matt Wood said: 'I know the county council has been very active in encouraging its staff to think about cycling to work, so it's not surprising to see them so well represented on Friday's trip.'

Wymondham resident and local district and county councillor Joe Mooney is a keen cyclist and has taken part in all three events so far.

'Those of us who took part in the event are keen to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce congestion in the city. I would encourage other local residents to have a go at cycling to work. It helps to reduce carbon footprint and it is a great way to stay in shape'.

The next Wymondham Approach will take place in the spring. See the Wymondham Approach
