Tourism businesses across the Waveney Valley are being invited to a conference to help improve promotion of the region.
Destination Waveney Valley will see businesses discuss the topic, using social media and the launch of a new website.
It will take place at South Elmham Hall, near Harleston, on Tuesday, March 12, and is being organised as part of the second phase of The Waveney Valley Tourism Forum.
Project officer Madeleine Coupe said the conference was aiming to tackle a number of questions about the region.
“With its meandering river, rolling countryside, wide skies, and acres of natural habitat, the Waveney Valley is the perfect holiday destination,” she said.
“Why then is this area still too often thought of as being ‘just somewhere you drive through’? How can we communicate to our potential visitors the quality of experience the Waveney Valley can offer? Can we achieve Destination Waveney Valley?”
The forum is a joint initiative between Mid Suffolk, South Norfolk and Waveney District Council, with funding by The Rural Development Programme for England.
It has already created a new identify for the region, which is on road and rail signs and used by a number of businesses, and held the a food and drink festival.
