North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) are looking for community emergency co-ordinators. The role involves putting together a resilience plan by gathering information which may be useful to a community in the event of an emergency.

The first three communities that create and publish their plans will receive a free emergency pack which includes solar blankets and a first aid kit.

Additionally, the first three communities to publish their plans and carry out a plan validation exercise will be entitled to a free, enhanced emergency pack. This includes extra items such a heavy duty dry bag and a set of two-way radios.

North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) has run its first ‘Community Resilience’ workshop with local residents and representatives agencies including the Environment Agency, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, the British Red Cross, HM Coastguard, Flood Sense and voluntary group 4x4 Response.

The groups joined NNDC’s civil contingencies manager, Richard Cook, at Sandy Hills Café in Sea Palling on Monday, January 28 to help communities understand what they can do to help themselves.
