Ahead of his show in Great Yarmouth next week, comedian Jim Davidson said he was pleased he would be facing no action following a police investigation into allegations of historic sex offences.
Mr Davidson, who is bringing his new stand-up show, You Must Be Joking, to the Britannia Pier theatre on Tuesday, said: “I took all the allegations very seriously and consulted with my legal team. The danger is to over-comment, but for the people who supported me in Yarmouth and come to the show, I will share my thoughts on stage.”
Mr Davidson, who was first questioned in October by detectives from Operation Yewtree, the investigation which followed the Jimmy Saville abuse scandal, will be playing the theatre for the second time this summer.
The once owner of the resort’s Wellington Pier has been a regular and popular visitor to the town and is a keen supporter of Caister’s independent lifeboat.
