There were no passengers on the bus, with only the two drivers on board.

Norfolk County Council confirmed the coach involved had completed a school transport run earlier in the morning but at the time of the incident was operating privately.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew and an ambulance officer to the scene. The air ambulance from the East Anglian Air Ambulance was also dispatched but was later stood down.

Paramedics assessed one patient for minor injuries and they did not require hospital treatment.

Norfolk Fire Service dispatched crews from Earlham, Sprowston and Carrow to make the vehicles safe.

The road reopened partially westbound between the A1074 and the B1110 following the crash, and a resulting fuel spill, while the eastbound carriageway opened fully.

Bus firms warned of delays to passengers and drivers reported queues on the road while the vehicles were recovered.

At 2pm the westbound stretched was reopened.
