A four-day summer sports camp for children takes place next week and there are still places available.

Boys and girls aged five to 11 are invited to sign up for activities including hockey, football, Danish longball, cricket, tag rugby, rounders, parachute, basketball, tennis and tug-of-war, run by professional coaches.

The events are being organised by North Walsham multisports, helped by a grant from Norfolk County Council's Healthy Communities' Fund.

The camp will be at The Atrium, attached to North Walsham High School, Spenser Avenue, from Monday August 4 to August 7, 10am-3pm. It costs £10 per day.

David Gosling started multisports more than 10 years ago and has run weekly sessions using North Norfolk District Council sports coaches every summer in North Walsham and Holt, attracting about 155 children weekly.

He said: 'Not only does multisports improve fitness, sporting ability and technique, but it also builds confidence and team skills and instils a lifetime love of sport. Several children who have attended multisports have gone on to teach sport or to represent Norfolk at higher level sport'.
