A carnival fundraiser for a mobile defibrillator has been moved from a coastal landmark to protect wild flowers.
The Sheringham Carnival fill the hill event was due to happen on Beeston Bump on Sunday July 27.
Organisers had put out a rallying call thousands of people to climb the hill which sits next to the Beeston cliffs - a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
It has been moved to Sheringham beach after North Norfolk District Council requested the event be moved after fears fragile flowers, including sand catchfly, yarrow broom rape and dittaner, would be damaged by a large crowd.
Stuart McClean, carnival chairman, said: 'I jumped the gun and didn't do my research about Beeston Bump. It is going to be a lot easier for us on the beach from a health and safety point of view.'
A council spokesman said there was no animosity between the authority and organisers about the change of plan.
The new stand on the sand event will happen at 1.30pm on July 27.
Cromer Carnival committee will replicate the event on the town beach but a date has not been set.
