Chapelfield Gardens will be one of the main venues for this year's Lord Mayor's Celebrations, fresh from hosting the final celebrations of the Olympic Torch Relay.

All manner of entertainment, stalls, music and children's events will make Chapelfield Gardens the place to be for families both today and tomorrow.

Norwich City Council leader, Brenda Arthur, said; 'We have new events in Chapelfield Gardens this year including a medieval market with re-enactments, wandering musicians and fire juggling – something a bit different.'

Here are some of the highlights:

Children's Corner

(Today 11am to 5pm and tomorrow 1pm to 5pm)

Circus skills, Punch and Judy show, crafts, balloons and stories.

Medieval Market

(Today 11am to 10pm and tomorrow 1pm to 7pm)

Tasty fare, demonstrations of skills, stalls, re-enactments, wandering musicians and fire juggling are all part of the medieval merriment.

Funfair

(Today 11am to 10pm and tomorrow 1pm to 7pm)

Rides including 1890 Carousel, Waveswinger, Helter Skelter, Sizzerler and Twister.

King Kong Boogie Bar

(Today 11am to 10pm)

Selection of DJs from The Waterfront, Future Radio, Uni Radio and Access to Music. Chilled soul and ska party vibes and 80s and 90s cheese.

BBC Norfolk Introducing Bandstand

(Today 3pm-10pm)

An afternoon of the new music made and played in Norfolk. Artists include Solko, Jace Gilkes and Sean Seraphim.

Tree Illuminations

(Today 10.30pm-11:30pm)

See Chapelfield Gardens' old trees in a different light – a perfect opportunity for budding photographers.

King Kong Boogie Bar

(Tomorrow 1pm-7pm)

A day of dance, featuring 40s and 50s swing, Latin and Afrobeat, right up to modern funk and electro. Dance lessons in the mix.
