Community groups in the north of Norfolk have the chance to get their hands on a share of £17,500, in the latest round of grants from the Victory Housing Community Fund.

So far 83 organisations have received a total of £247,682 from the fund, which was set up to provide support to grassroots groups which work in the heart of the community.

Projects funded by the last round of grants included a multi-use games area, a sensory garden for children, a community gym, a youth project and two lunch clubs.

Bidding in the latest round of grants is open to any community organisation in the north of Norfolk. Charities, voluntary groups, community organisations and parish councils can apply for grants of up to £5,000 which can be used for a wide range of uses, such as capital costs, venue hire, equipment, start-up expenses and training, for example.

“This is an opportunity for charities, community groups and voluntary organisations to bid for money to help them deliver their great work in communities throughout the north of Norfolk,” said Victory Housing Trust chief executive John Archibald.
