An acclaimed brass band is gearing up for its appearance at the EDP Festival of Carols with a near sell-out concert.

The Cawston Band, reigning champion band of East Anglia, is set to perform in front of a capacity audience at Gorleston Pavilion Theatre on Sunday, November 22, to benefit a local dementia home.

Proceeds from the concert, which takes place at 3pm, will be donated to the activities and amenities fund at Lydia Eva Court, a specialist dementia care home in Gorleston, operated by NorseCare.

The concert is the first of a series of performances over the festive period from the brass band, who will help bring Christmas cheer to St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich, at the annual EDP Festival of Carols.

The Festival of Carols is set to take place on December 9, and will see the band accompanying the Festival Choir and the Broadland Youth Choir, as they sing festive favourites.

Tickets are available for £8.95
from the EDP Norwich office at Prospect House; by post (to EDP Festival of Carols, Front Office, Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1RE) with a cheque made payable to Archant Norfolk Limited and a stamped address envelope for return of tickets as well as your name, address and a telephone number or email address; or online at

Proceeds from the Festival of Carols are to go to the EDP We Care Appeal.
