Cat is rescued from burning Great Yarmouth building

Fire crews have rescued a cat from a burning building in Great Yarmouth.

Two appliances from Great Yarmouth and one appliance from Gorleston were called to the building fire in Northgate Street at 12.09am today.

Crews used breathing apparatus, main and hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

A thermal image camera and positive pressure ventilation fan were also used at the incident.

The crews rescued a cat from the building.

Crews recorded the stop time as 1.42am and left the scene, with an investigation into the cause of the fire ongoing.
