Such was the success of a Carers Help event this week at the Shrublands Community Centre in Gorleston, the location has already been booked for next year.
Peter Rowley, chairman of Care for Carers, who organised the second annual event in the Great Yarmouth borough, said: “The hall was full from start to finish with people coming from as far away as Norwich for the help and advice provided. Care for Carers committee would like to thank everyone who made it the fantastic event it was.
“We didn’t just help other people, we helped ourselves with the masses of networking we did from start to finish. That in turn will help the people who request our help, advice and assistance. We all generated enormous warmth, goodwill, empathy and caring to every one attending.”
The event featured help, information and advice stands from many charities and organisations within the borough.
Next year’s event for the Yarmouth area is booked at the Shrublands for Tuesday, July 9, which will fall during Carers Week.
Mr Rowley said: “Our next event is at the Norwich Forum on Monday, October 6 to celebrate Older Peoples Awareness Week. “Although we call our event a Carers Help Event, we look to help carers, the cared for, ex-carers, older people, the lonely, and the vulnerable.”
