A 25-year-old man from Mundesley has been charged with drink driving following an incident at North Walsham’s Bluebell Pond in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A black Renault Megane left the road and plunged through the safety railings surrounding the local beauty spot, on the Bacton Road beside the Bluebell pub. The car also collided with a lamppost.
A spokesman said police were alerted at 4.37am. The man is due to appear before Norwich magistrates on December 4. Roy Haynes, Bluebell Pond Society chairman, said volunteers had only recently completed a clean up of the pond.
A 19-year-old found dead on Hunstanton Beach was named today.
