A driver has made a surprise entrance at a charity shop after his car ended up in the front window.
The incident took place at around 8.20am yesterday, when the driver of a blue Audi A3 ended up wedged between a lamppost and the front of St Nicholas Hospice Care’s shop in London Road, Brandon.
Ian Daniels, St Nicholas Hospice Care Head of Retail, attended the scene shortly afterwards to assess any damage to the shop.
He said: “The police came and the car was moved by 9.30am.
“The shop couldn’t trade until about three hours later, until a broken window was boarded up. Our loyal shop volunteers spent the morning clearing up to ensure we could trade as normal, but luckily the only real damage was the broken window and a little bit of exterior damage.
“It certainly made an interesting start to the day.”
The broken window will be replaced on Friday.
