Archant Norfolk.

Drivers using the A47 near Norwich are being warned to face delays as a result of a car fire, which blocked the road.

Firefighters from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze on the eastbound carriageway between the A11 and A140 Ipswich Road junctions.

The fire started at about 11.45am today and involved a black Vauxhall car. No one was injured.

Two fire engines attended and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.

The road was reopened at 12.20pm. However, one lane remains closed because of the damage caused to the carriageway.
