People can sign a book of memories at the church, with a sign encouraging people to: “Please stop and remember. Remember joys shared and good times together. Remember and grieve for three good young lives lost. Remember and pray for comfort and hope in this dark time.”

The Rev Nigel Tuffnell, from the church, said: “There’s pain in the town and there’s pain for the three families. The boys are well-known in the town.

“This is a centrepoint in the town and it seems right that it would be a place where people could go and express their grief if they wish to lay flowers or whatever they want to do.

“There is a book there where they can write what they’re feeling.”

The Rev Tuffnell added that: “The only way to describe what has happened is shock. You just can’t believe it.

“They are three young lives that we know so well. The fact they’re not around is something difficult to get your head around.”

One of the tributes in the book of memories reads: “Three young boys taken away too quickly.”

Another said they “will always be remembered”.
