A black Labrador and a chocolate-coloured Cocker Spaniel were discovered at the estate on Thursday and, despite appeals on Facebook and Twitter, and searches on the website DogLost, no owner has been found.

A spokesman for the Holkham Estate said: “The dogs were not together when they were found.

“One was in the park and the other was by a road near the estate.

“We have no idea how they got there or if they had one owner or were owned by different people but we are doing everything we can to find out.”

The dogs are currently under the care of North Norfolk District Council.

Anyone who has information should contact the Holkham Estate on 01328 710227.
