Business owners in a coastal community are being asked to put forward their views about how the town’s chamber of trade is run.

Current president of Cromer and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Tracey Khalil, said despite its “strong membership” fewer people were coming to the quarterly meetings.

An open discussion for members and non-members will be held at the Red Lion Hotel, Cromer, on Monday April 7 at 5.30pm to debate if the committee structure should remain or be replaced with a new system.

Mrs Khalil, 50, said: “The chamber has been going since the 1950s. The roles have been tweaked but the group still has a traditional format. Maybe people don’t want that anymore? The group needs new ideas and fresh approaches to keep it thriving.”

There are 68 group members and six of the eight committee members want to stand down.

Members need to let Mrs Khalil know if they cannot attend and non-members need to tell her if they can attend.
