Police and fire fighters were called out to the incident at the junction of Churchill Road and Mundford Road at about 4.30pm today.

A spokesman for Anglian Water said traffic lights were being put in while work is carried out and it was hoped the problem would be fixed overnight.

No houses will have their water cut off during the repairs.

The burst water main was reported to the emergency services this afternoon, with police managing the traffic.
