Police were called after the broken down vehicle was causing problems for northbound traffic on the A11 in Cringleford at Thickthorn roundabout.

It was reported at 3.30pm but has since been recovered and all lanes have been re-opened.

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said the engine was not a frontline fire engine, but one of their training fire engines from the Bowthorpe Training Centre.
