FORMER heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson is coming to Gorleston next month.

The fighter is the main attraction at a boxing night at the Ocean Room on Friday, October 12 and tickets are in high demand.

The 46-year-old received an estimated $300m during his career, and is the subject of a documentary film about his life - called ‘Tyson’.

Organiser Leon Docwra is expecting almost double the turnout of when legendary Sugar Ray Leonard visited due to the word of mouth spread of its success.

“This town and the surrounding area has never seen anything like this and people are calling me from Scotland wanting to be part of this event,” revealed Leon.

“It’s never happened on these shores before - he’s just a living legend.

“He had no plans to come here but he spoke to Sugar Ray and is going to give us an appearance.

“Who else can say they’ve got a picture of Mike Tyson on their mantlepiece?

“If people want to book tickets they need to do it fast.”

For tickets for the Mike Tyson night, call Leon Docwra on 07776 352450 or Carl Moore on 07919 026341.

  • As a boxer Tyson was awesome, however, his personalty is rather dull, along with the fact of him being a convicted rap*st, makes me ponder why..people would pay top wonga to see and listen to him??

  • How low and desperate can you go to have a convicted rapist turn up for a talk at this 'ever so prestigous' venue.Who's on next? Dale Cregan? Shame on the Ocean Rooms and to anyone who pays to see the rapist.
