Blakeney Point celebrates 100 years as a National Trust jewel with exhibition

The Blakeney Area Historical Society is joining with the National Trust for an exhibition to celebrate 100 years of the Trust being the custodians of Blakeney Point.
The exhibition, entitled Tidal Lands, will cover the history and natural history of the area, with the Society concentrating on the people, the communities and its early history.
It covers the coastal villages of Morston, Blakeney, Wiveton and Cley and will include photographs, maps and exhibits on local ships, the Blakeney lifeboat and coastguards, the sale of the Point by the Calthorpe family in 1911, local families and personalities, local houses and more.
There will also be opportunities to meet and talk with other people who are interested in the history of the area.
The exhibition will run for four days from August 18- 21 at Blakeney Village Hall and the opening times are from 10.30am-4pm every day.
Entrance is free and refreshments will be available. There will also be car parking facilities.
