A popular biker who had an 'unusual life' was given a fitting send off yesterday after a five-year battle with liver failure.
Stephen Miles, 54, known as Smiler, from Stalham, died on July 2 in hospital.
More than 100 bikers, including members of the Norwich-based Sunday Club, took part in a cavalcade from Stalham High Street ahead of his funeral at St Faiths Crematorium in Horsham St Faith.
Mr Miles was born in Caister, grew up in Ormesby and attended the former Paston Grammar School in North Walsham before leaving aged 17 to join a bike club.
He was involved in the battle over the Norwich Argyle Street Squat in the 1980s and took ownership of the land for hippie travellers in Sea Palling in the 1990s.
Friend Matt Rayner said Mr Miles stood for fun, freedom and was a character.
He had four daughters and nine grandchildren.
