Former Big Brother winner Josie Gibson underwent a tummy tuck at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to get rid of her 6lb ‘belly blanket’.
The 31-year-old reality star signed up to Celebrity Botched Bodies following her dramatic seven stone weight loss which left her with significant excess skin.
Josie, who won the 2010 series of Big Brother, enlisted the help of leading plastic surgeon Elaine Sassoon in scenes shown on Channel 5 at the weekend.
In the toe-curling footage Elaine removes a ‘strip tyre width of flab’ and Josie’s belly button to ensure an even incision.
During the operation a blood vessel bursts but the bleeding is quickly stopped and the procedure is successful.
Botched Up Bodies explores the drastic consequences of going under the knife and the extreme consequences people go to for the ‘perfect body.’
Josie turned to the show for help after she lost seven stone in just eight months. In the episode she said: “I call it the belly blanket.
“I look like I’ve had four babies and I don’t want to look like that anymore.”
Since winning Big Brother she has gone from a size 20 to a size 8 and is now a qualified personal trainer with two fitness DVDs.
Elaine is the consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the N&N, Cromer Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn and Ipswich Hospital.
An N&N spokesperson has confirmed that the entire treatment was paid for by the production company.
