A beer festival with a difference started today and initial feedback is that it’s perfect weather for drinking.

As reported, each of England’s 48 ceremonial counties is represented by a brew at the Fat Cat Brewery Tap’s beer festival in Lawson Road, Norwich.

Landlady Laura White, who runs the pub with husband Mark, said: “It’s already going really well. We had about 20 to 30 people in the pub by just 1pm. We have had lots of interest and people are saying that it’s perfect weather for a beer festival.”

The ‘Tapfest’ festival runs until Monday, September 9, and the 48 county beers are supplemented by eight beers from the Fat Cat’s own brewery in Norwich. These include a 9pc alcohol beer called Cat o’ Nine Tails, on offer for the first time.

It’s the couple’s first annual beer and music festival, after taking over two and a half years ago.
