Sweet treats inspired by hit television show the Great British Bake Off were tried and tested for charity.
Residents and staff at Norwich Housing Society’s Eleanor Road complex got baking and tasting for the Great British Fake-Off Bake-Off Cake-Off contest which raised £312 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Each of the bakes were judged by Eleanor Road residents and sold for charity.
Cakes included a black forest gateau, lemon drizzle cupcakes, chocolate scones and a banana loaf.
Voted best bake was a chocolate lover’s delight made by Irene Young, which narrowly beat a colourful rainbow cake made by scheme manager Sue Closs.
Ms Closs said: “The opportunity to taste more than a dozen fabulous cakes meant that we had a bumper turn-out.”
The Eleanor Road complex has 38 flats spread across five buildings and it is one of seven run by Norwich Housing Society.
