A community tree planting event will be held in Attleborough next week.
Attleborough Town Council is organising the event at Gaymer’s Meadow, in Maurice Gaymer Road, on Saturday January 12, from 10am.
As part of the town’s tree re-planting scheme, Attleborough in Leaf, Busseys have donated 14 fruit trees through their apples and orchards project.
The project comes after several trees in the town were felled last year after they were found to be dead or dying.
Town mayor Sam Taylor said: “We are hoping that members of the community will come along with their families and participate in the planting session. There was a community re-plant held in December and the families that took part really seemed to enjoy the day.”
The mayor will serve up hot chocolate and coffee for everyone that attends. For more information contact Attleborough Town Council on 01953 456194.
