Partick Thistle’s newly-unveiled bright yellow mascot has set social media alight - with some branding it “terrifying” while others labelled it a scary version of cartoon character Lisa Simpson.

The Scottish Premiership side introduced the world to club mascot Kingsley as it announced a new sponsorship deal.

But fans were quick to react to the spiky-haired creation, who comes complete with a thick black monobrow.

The mascot was designed by the Turner Prize-nominated artist and long-time Jags fan David Shrigley.

Have a look at Norwich City’s mascots through the years in our photo gallery.

  • Dubai Canary is right in all he says about the mascots. E.H.Banger's creations - Canary and Dumpling were all time classics that should have been protected not elimanated.

  • The Aviva Lemur is by far the most abstract mascot. What is the link between Lemur's and Norwich City? A silly idea. Silly, silly idea. Baffled regards, Whiley.

  • I have taken the liberty of copying and enlarging this photograph and placed it on the mantelpiece. That should keep my young grandchildren away from the fire. What a monstrosity!!!

  • 'The mascot was designed by the Turner prize nominated artist & long time Jags fan'..its certainly jagged so would be interesting to see what a fibreglass dragon would inspire?

  • All the recent mascots are absolutely dreadful and in fact a complete embarrassment. They should all be sent to the gallows or left in the dungeons at the castle museum ! The only credible ones ever were E H Banger's Norfolk Dumpling and the Norwich Canary - now they are quality.
