Remember the arty apes that decorated our fine city last summer?

Well rumour has it a new gang of colourful creatures is set to take to the streets of Norwich in 2015.

Children’s charity Break, which organised the GoGoGorillas! trail, is working on a new animal-themed outdoor art spectacle and all is set to be revealed tomorrow.

Ahead of the grand unveiling, we would like to hear what animal you would like to be the star of the show - you can vote in our online poll on this story and also post your ideas below.

The GoGoGorillas! troop of 54 ape sculptures decorated Norwich from June to September last year and were a huge hit with people of all ages.

The whole trail was organised by Break and Wild in Art, and at auction the gorillas raised £272,300 for Break and the Born Free Foundation.

  • Oh no! At least a half page coverage in the EDP every day for months. Wish the editor would put as much effort into investigating, and calling to accout, NCC. On the bright side thank heavens we dont get mustard TV in the west! As for creatures Alligators, I named my pet alligator Cliff a couple of years ago!

  • How about getting away from the animal to the vegetable or mineral. Or what about a big fibreglass EDP?

  • I can't believe it would be anything other than Canaries - if we stay up they can be shiny and perching jauntily(maybe even with outstretched wings), if we go down they can adopt the classic 'Norwegian Blue' dead parrot pose with a matt finish to the paint jobs!

  • Sheep to reflect the wealth the weaving industry created in the county and the city, or dragons because of Snap and the Guild of St George. Or give it a rest.

  • How about putting sculptures of the NCC councillors about Norwich. They can be used as a reminder of how useless they are and also when you try to find them, its like trying to find the real ones. (you cant)

  • TURKEYS? This would remind us of Norfolk's bootiful poultry industry AND Norfolk's county councillors!

  • I really don't mind but perhaps a Bittern or Swallowtail Butterfly rather than something from somewhere else in the world. What ever it turns out to be it will, without doubt, turn 'The Eastern Daily Gorilla' into the 'Eastern Daily (something else) which will, at least ,dilute the Eastern Daily Picture of Cromer Pier'

  • I voted for the snails, as they remind me of the snail ride at JoyLand which mother and I tend to go on, in the summer months. Regards, Whiley.
