As Bristol City plan to become the first club in the country to install rail seats, we want to know if you would like to see safe standing areas at Carrow Road.

Rail seats, currently used in Germany, consist of a safety barrier and a seat on every row. The seats are locked into an upright position for domestic games and supporters stand between the barriers. For European games, the seats are simply unlocked.

The League One club hopes to install the new seating as part of the redevelopment of Ashton Gate and have installed a demonstration block.

The safe standing areas would only be used during rugby matches as regulations currently prohibit their use in football matches.

Terraces in the top two divisions were outlawed in 1994 after 96 Liverpool fans died in the Hillsborough disaster.

But many supporters are tired of the all-seater stadium rule, claiming that it ruins the match day experience.

The Barclay End Projekt was formed in March 2013 by a collective of supporters in the Barclay End at Carrow Road. The group is calling for the introduction of rail seats in the Barclay End lower tier to give supporters the choice to stand safely at matches.

David Wiltshire from the Barclay End Projekt said: 'The primary benefit of safe standing is that it gives all supporters a choice between standing and sitting, without compromising on safety, and we have the support of stadium architects and safety officers to back this up.

'We already see thousands of supporters standing at every game in seated areas with the authorities powerless to prevent it. It would be far better for them to stand in a designated standing area which has been built specifically to meet the requirements of these fans.

'It would also enable fans who want to sit, or need to sit, to attend matches knowing they'll be surrounded by like minded fans in a seated area who won't stand in front of them. It isn't a question of if we see safe standing areas in England, it's simply a question of when.'
