A church in a Norfolk village is to be decorated with artistic depictions of angels as part of an arts festival.

The St. Mary’s church in Colkirk will host the event, titled Host of Angels Festival, on the weekend of May 12 and May 13.

There will be angels made from stainless steel, fibre glass, paper, patchwork, and origami decorating the building and one keen artist has even made a choir of angels from nuts and bolts.

A full-size, knitted Salvation Army officer will be standing in the porch welcoming people to the festival.

Local artists will be exhibiting their work, most of which will be for sale, and there will also be a refreshments table selling drinks and cakes on both days, as well as quiz sheets for £1.

The organisers will be raising money for new LED lighting in the church and they will be asking people to put loose change into a bucket beside their favourite angel. Admission will be free.
