Police in Gorleston are appealing for information after five mopeds were stolen in the space of a few days.

A 50cc moped was stolen from Cherry Close in Bradwell between 11pm on Sunday, January 27 and 6.30am on Monday, January 28. It was later recovered in the children’s play area behind Mill Lane community centre with damage to its ignition wiring.

A Peugeot moped was taken from Windsor Way in Gorleston between 12.30am and 7am on Monday, January 28.

An orange and black moped was stolen from Kings Road in Gorleston between 11.30am on Sunday, January 27 and 10.15am on Monday, January 28.

A moped that was found by police, traced as being stolen from a home at Peterhouse Avenue in Gorleston and a motorcycle was stolen from the front garden of a home at Springfield Road, Gorleston between 6pm on Monday, January 28 and 8am on Tuesday, January 29.

In all the cases the vehicles were found dumped in the Bradwell or Magdalen area.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy from Gorleston on suspicion of theft after three people were seen riding a moped on the evening of Tuesday, January 29.

All three have been bailed to return to police on February 27 as officers investigate the thefts.
