High-street bank Barclays closed its branch in Tucker Street, Cromer today.

Its closure and that of a number of other Barclays branches nationwide was announced in September.

Barclays said it was closing due to a declining number of counter transactions and customers using alternative means of banking.

It comes just months after the Santander branch in Church Street, Cromer closed in September.

There remain branches of Lloyds, HSBC, NatWest and Norwich and Peterborough Building Society in the north Norfolk seaside resort.

It comes just a week after NatWest announced it would close its branch in North Walsham in June, alongside four others in the region, due to “radical changes” in the way customers use its services.

Between May 17 and June 27, 2018 the branches in Beccles, Thetford, Holt, Hunstanton and North Walsham will close following a decision by parent company RBS to shut 197 NatWest outlets nationally.
